Should I take the SAT?

Hey! Thanks for reading!

So I took the ACT for my first time last fall and got a 34. I'm really happy with this, and all the colleges I'm applying to take either the ACT or SAT. However, my dad seems to think I should also take the SAT. I don't think I would be as good at the SAT based on what I know, and I don't really feel like studying really hard. I'm busy worrying about my applications now. Anyway, should I just decide not to take it?

Do colleges prefer a high ACT score and no SAT score, or a high ACT score and a lower SAT score.

If the ACT didn't have writing on it (and I assume it didn't since you took it in the fall), you're either going to need to take the new ACT or new SAT for most colleges.

Check with some of the colleges you will be applying to. If they accept your "old" ACT score (w/o writing), then I see no reason to take the SAT.
