I am a freshman with sophomore standing at my college. When I first visited i fell in love with the school but after almost two semesters and a bad experience with my group of "friends" here at school, i am seriously debating transferring to a school that has two of my best friends from home and several other friends. I visited them for a weekend and hadn't had that much fun since christmas break when i was home with all of my friends and family. I have only one friend that i consistently eat and hang out with as well as another friend who i occasionally eat with. I have plenty of acquaintances but don't have a group of friends. My first group of friends turned out to not be a fit and a second group started off great but i barely spend time with them anymore even though i do put in a lot of effort to see them and hang out with them. I;m involved with student senate as well as two other clubs so i have definitely put myself out there and tried to meet people but haven't done so well. My roommate situation really sucks because we have nothing in common and barely speak and i dislike my floor because the majority of them judge you if you aren't a part of their group. I have done a good amount of research and will be able to have the dual major and minor that i want to complete at the school i want to transfer to. My dilemma is that the school i'm currently at will give me a better education and many more networking and career opportunities that i will definitely not get at the other school. Not to mention i love the campus, programs, and professors here. ALso, the study abroad program here is for an entire semester while the one at the other school is only 5 weeks. I've talked to my parents, sister, and good friend here and they have all said the same thing; i won't get this education or opportunities at the other school but i also won't be miserable there either. I'm staying here for next semester and I'm rooming with my best friend here next semester and hopefully my floor will be better. I am debating joining a fraternity as well, but that may have its own set of issues. Any advice on what i should do would be greatly appreciated.
