I am going to be a freshman in college next school year and will be going to St. John's University in Queens, NY. I am going to STJ because it is offering me over $20K off per year.

Still I want to find a job in LA after college, so would it be better for me to transfer to a school in the city to help my job search?

If you chose SJU because of the low cost, what exactly is it that will change between now and next year that will suddenly make the CA schools affordable? If you will need significant financial aid, don’t enroll anywhere this fall. Take a gap year instead and apply for fall 2013 as a freshman.

Yes it will make finding a job easier. Is transferring a good option for you though? Not sure.

All the connections you will meet if you are proactive at an LA school will make finding internships while in college easier and with internships you have a better chance of getting hired at those companies or many others.
