Should I transfer to UCI or stay at UCR?

Hi Everyone,

I am currently a UCR third year international student major in psychology.
I got in UCI senior transfer wait-list 2013 and the result will be out on 6/15/2013.
However, I also got an chancellor research fellowship at UCR that worths $5000 award to develop my own study for 2013-2014.
Also, I would get a on campus job at UCR as peer counselor for $13.5/hr for 2013-2014.
I am currently involved in two psychology labs and would become a lab manager for next year.
Plus, I got a lead position in my volunteer work.

So my question is , should I transfer into UCI if I get in?
If I did not get in UCI, there will be no issue or problem.
But I would like to start considering it right now so I have more time to make the decision.

My future plan is to apply for grad school on I/O psych in America.
I would like to know what decision I made would have a better chance to get in to a good grad school/ or a better future.

UCI definitely has a better reputation. (it will be a good back up if I graduate from UCI and go back to China for work because it is more well-known in China)
I would not mind living in a new environment and knowing absolutely no one. My only consideration would be not having as mush opportunity I already had in UCR.

Additional questions:
How is UCI psychology undergraduate program?
As a senior transfer, what should I expect on academic such as taking classes or would I be able to graduate on time, etc?

Thank you so much!!!

I would stay at UCR for sure. It seems like you’re already involved in a lot of good research and projects there that would be a waste to leave behind. And reputation doesn’t matter that much, especially since UCR is a UC, and all UCs have a good reputation (except for UC Merced haha)
