Should I transfer w/o a AA degree?

I was wondering if I should just try to transfer without graduating from the CC I am at. I am doing good so far and have about 80 something credits. I only have to complete my math classes (math 94, 99, and a 100 level class) and one more science class in order to graduate.

I was hoping on graduating this fall since I am behind in my math classes, but with the outlook of math 94 I am in, I think I will probably end up failing so my graduation plan would be pushed back even more than I would like. I feel like crap and I am getting tired of being at the school I'm at. It feels like I have been at this CC for an enternity already and I'm ready to move onto my intened major.

In general, I was thinking about transfering for spring 2013 instead of waiting it out in a CC where it feels unmotivating and non progressive towards what I want to do. Has anyone done this before?

Opinion anyone? Has anyone transferred without a AA or AS degree?

I’m transferring this fall without earning three associates I almost got (one bs diversity course is the cause of this that I am not going to take).

You’re not really going to benefit much from earning one, though.

I did however take all of the major preparation classes I needed to transfer to another university. You should finish those before transferring. I don’t know what math 94, 95, or 100 are…but they all sound like remedial courses you are very much better off finishing at a CC because it’ll be harder and more expensive if you fail them at another university. I know it sucks. I didn’t have to take any remedial courses, but I did have to stay an extra year to transfer to make sure I finished all of my major preparation. Schools are more willing to accept you I think based on completion of your major prep.

If you can transfer and cannot absolute stand CC another year, go for it. As far as my understanding goes, I had to complete a certain course list before transferring so I could gain admission to whatever school I wanted to apply to. You should speak to your counselor about what you need to transfer.

Thank you Caldud. I am almost done with my science requirement and I am going to finsih it this summer. That means that the only class I need to take is math to fulfill that requirement.

It’s horrible, my advisor and counselor have been helping me for the past two quarters to graduate and now I am set back because of this remedial math class. I have to complete two courses of it to get into a college level class. I am upset by it and was hoping to graduate and transfer out by the end of this year. :(

This will also bring down my gpa that I worked hard to bring up and maintain. It’s going to look bad on my transcripts to the schools I wanted to apply too. I’m just a mess right now. I don’t want to wait it out in the home situation I am in. It’s pretty bad and that’s another reason I wanted to transfer sooner.
