Should I transfer?

I am currently at Florida International University in Miami, Fl. I am in the honors college and have about a 3.53 gpa.

I love FIU. I love the city of Miami (my hometown.) I think the weather is great, the people are lovely. Its such an international city and there is a certain comfort in knowing the town inside and out. I am also already established here with a job and church and a whole life really.

I am being encouraged to transfer, but I'm not so sure anymore. I have been advised that I really should apply to schools that make my heart beat. My heart beats straight out of my chest for Georgetown (Hoya Saxa!) but I understand that Georgetown would be a reach. I am also thinking of Boston College, Boston University, George Washington and American. Yet, financial aid and location are important to me. Boston College would be a great runner-up to Georgetown, only a tad bit more accessible, thank Gtown, but still a reach. I feel fairly confident about getting into American, GW and Boston University, however financial aid is not the best at those schools, or their cost is just absurd (as in GW.)

my ultimate goal is Berkley or Gtown law. I wonder if I should transfer. If I transfer, I would probably have a really hard time affording it, much more so than FIU who's financial aid exceeds my needs. yet, they are only a tier two university. I wonder, should I transfer to say American which is tier one, pay high tuition (though I love DC.) or should I stay at FIU where its cheap, comfortable and I'm even in the honor's college?

in the end my question is:

would a law school admissions counselor prefer to see me graduate from FIU Honors College or from American University (as a regular student?)

or, should I just stay at FIU, get that done with and start focusing on law school.

honestly, for Gtown, I'd look to sell my kidney on the black market (I figure, I got one more than I need right?) but I don't think I would necessarily sell it for American.

please advise. otherwise, I'll just restate my same positions in different ways.
