I am a Frshman at U of Florida. I started in the summer and took 2 classes. I currently hold a 3.75 GPA (based off of 2 classes). My dream school is Yale and I want to transfer. Florida is a GREAT school, dont get me worng but I really want Yale. Currently I am the Community Service Director for IRHA which is the orginization for students who live on campus. I am also Historian (former summer treasurer) for Murphree Area Council which is my local area government. I volunteer at Shands which is the hospital on Friday afternoons. I am also a member of ModelUN. I am taking 5 classes and having alot of fun. My schedule is extreamly tight becasue I also have a part time job but I manage to fit everything in. I am applying to transfer for next fall but I was wondering how study abroad would affect my decision. I want to do a program in Geneva, Switzerland in the summer. It will give me an internship position with the International Court and it would a be a great experiance. But would this help me with applying? Should I wait until my Sophmire year to apply? Any help would be great thanks!!

Florida is a great school?, i dont know how true that is. Compared to what? community college.

Yale is a GREAT school

Florida is nothing compared to a CC. I went to a CC for Dual Enrollment and this school is awesome. I dont know where u got ur information from but it is a really good school. Nationally we are in the top 50 and we are also trying to become a top 10 public university. This school has some extreamly good professors and our football team is doing pretty well. Florida is a good school and thats that.

I second that. Anyone who says UF isn't a good school doesn't know what they're talking about :p

the students at UF are well qualified for ivies, they're smart and super talented. Its just because they get a full ride to UF thanks to the Bright Future Scholarship. A UF student can be compared with any students at the ivies. Trust me. I know what I'm talking about.
