I am 2nd year college student attending a Penn State Branch Campus.

Im interested in a future career in investment banking/banking/finance.

I got accepted into Penn State's University Park Campus for Management but I really need to major in Finance. However, I dont have the required 3.5 GPA.

I have started applying to other schools. What should i do?

Should I stay at Penn State, go to the Main Campus and double major in Management & Economics.

or transfer to one of these following schools and major specifically in Finance?

UPitt ( awaiting Spring transcript for decision )
St. John's University (NY)
Drexel
Cornell (pending acceptance)
Rutgers New Brunswick

Feel free to leave any feedback. Thanks

I’m not familiar with those schools besides Cornell, but I can tell you that to get into IB, you need to be at a prestigious business school like UPenn, Sterns, etc. Or unless you have a 3.8 GPA and very good connections.

I suggest you stay at Penn state, they got a great business schools.

Go to the Main Campus unless you get into Cornell. None of those schools are going to get you into IB either.

Knights09 is right, you can’t get into IB from those schools. BUT you can get a good GPA at penn state than apply for Masters at a top 10 business (wharton, harvard, etc) and go IB there

Bump. The key thing is if I GO to PSU Main Campus I would double major in Management & Economics. Is that a good idea?

I mean it doesn’t really matter honestly if your goal is to get into IB. You’ll need to do really well and go to a great grad school to do that. It doesn’t matter where you go to school.
