Hi I currently go to a university that my mom loves but I don't. I don't like the vibe, area because I've lived here all my life. Because i commute it's cheaper. However I want to go to a larger school about 2 hours away and is the same amount as this one if I stayed on campus. I have been applying to colleges like crazy. Unfortunately you don't know whether you get it until the application deadline. I wanna go ahead and apply and see how much I can get from the school and then see how many scholarships I may have gotten. I know I can opt out and stay if they don't offer me money but my mom thinks its a bad idea. I work part time so I would have money for myself. I just feel so discouraged from trying. I mean it doesn't hurt to just see? I am really unhappy here and it's affecting me big time. Should I just do it and see? Btw I'm a freshman this year so I would be transferring for my sophomore year. Also my major is undecided if that affects anything. The school I'm trying for is Towson university
