Should I transfer?

I'm in a huuuge dilema. I need to tell the school district by next Monday but I still haven't made up my mind.

I currently go to a public school in British Columbia. We offer a ton of AP courses except AP Bio, the one I want to take the most. Here I have very limited course options that I hate but I will have 6 AP courses by the time I graduate. But I won't have a lot of fun during my years of high school because these aren't really the courses I want to take.

There's another public school some ways from where I live that's an IB school, but they have ALL the classes I want to take, and even if they're challenging, at least I'll enjoy doing them (if I enjoy a subject I'll do much better in it). I have a ton of friends that go to that school and the program looks so amazing and just right for me. So what's stopping me?

If I apply, I'll be in that school for my grade 11 year. IB courses are 2 years long, so don't you think it'll be too late for me? I just finished all my gr 10 courses and half of my grade 11, but shouldn't I complete my grade 12 courses before I go into any IB program? Or is it designed that after you finish your grade 11 courses you can take IB and not fail in it?

Also, I have leadership positions in my current school. I'm Gr. 11 Rep for student council next year, president of MUN club, and founder and president of Orchestra Club. If I move, I'll lose all of these positions.

Is it worth it? Should I transfer? The IB program looks so amazing to me right now if I just didn't have these three positions and worry about the fact that it's too late for me, I'd go in a heartbeat.

Thoughts? Opinions? Please help T^T

I’m an IB student. You have to take IB the full two years: junior and senior year. I can’t speak about how easy it’d be for you to adjust to the differences in curriculum, that depends on you and your current school. However, technically speaking, you’d be able to do IB if you started school at the beginning of junior year at the new place.

However, there’s always going to be something about another school that will be enticing to you (the grass is greener on the other side and all), and I personally don’t think it’s worth it. Those are really solid leadership positions, and it’s unlikely you’d be able to get the same sort of positions if you transferred.

Just take AP Bio online
