Should I Transfer?

I’ve been admitted to UCSB for Fall 2016. After receiving aid + grants, my net cost is estimated at about $10,000 USD.
As of now I am still undecided if I want to leave Fresno and go to Santa Barbara. If I decide to stay I will be a third year community college student majoring in Biology or Chemistry (still undecided/same prereqs). I would like to get some advice on what you would do if you were in my shoes.

  1. Stay one more semester in community college (finish up pre-reqs) and transfer in Spring at a CSU Fresno or
  2. Take out federal loans and go to UCSB.

I would also have to take the MCAT in about year, as I plan to apply for Medical School.

i think graduating from UCSB with 15k +/- in subsidized debt isn’t too disconcerting - if you are headed into the workforce. Your interest in medical school has me leaning the other way You will incur mounds of debt there…

Thank you for your response NCal, my only problem with staying is the upper division classes I will miss out on.
