Hi everyone. I am an international student from Viet Nam and I want to take French subject test. However, I am not a native speaker and

just passed an Delf B1. Now I still studying for the B2. I heard that American University prefer the SAT subject test so I want

to try. I do not know the difficulty of this test, those who finished both test please give me some advice and the equivalent

SAT score comparing with the Delf B1 level. By the way, I just start my junior year in a private high school of America.

Regarding :)

If you passed the DELF B1, you should probably ace the SAT subject test, since it tests at the A2/B1 level. As to American universities “preferring” the SAT subject test, I’m not sure that “prefer” is the right word. It’s certainly more prevalent than certification exams like DELF. However, if you were to pass a certification exam at or above a certain level (IMO opinion B2 or above, others may have a different opinion) I would certainly include it on my college application.

That said, being multilingual is not that unusual, so it’s unlikely to move the needle in the admissions process.

Oh I see. Thank you so much, skieurope. Hope I have enough confident for the SAT French test :)
