i applied ED to a school and they send me back a verification email, telling me to reply if there was anything that needed to be changed. there was a correction, which i emailed. today i got an email back from the assistant director of admissions saying:
Hello curiouskatie,
I made the change.
Should I send a thank-you email back? I dont want to swamp this probably-very-busy-person with an extra email, but I want to be polite. If so, what should the email say?

that seems like overdoing it to me, I mean, it's not like it was an interview or anything, and they probably make these changes all the time, but hey what do I know

I wouldn't do it. I did some front office customer service for a 3,500 member organization nonprofit and it really drove me crazy when someone would reply to my (booking a meeting, responding to a request, etc) with a thank-you email! You have to think that if 10% did this, you'd get an extra 350 emails clogging your inbox. Don't do it.
