Should I?

My dear son has been refusing to check decision result since he woke up this morning. He said he just want to wait until any email or mail comes in. Although I know his password (he always shares that kind of info with me in case of emergency), i wish my son to check result himself. I has been resisting the temptation to log in MIT's decision site while keep begging my son. Should I just check the result myself?
No matter what the result is, my want him moving on ASAP. If he is lucky to get in, he doesn't need to write any more essays this weekend. If he is not, maybe he should work harder for other schools' essays or start thinking how he can add more useful additional info to MIT.
Anyway, should I do this? Or just wait?

Wait. If your son is not ready to see yet, you should respect his decision. No matter what happens, be proud of him and support him.

Thanks! I guess I’ll just wait. I’m always pround of him no matter what the outcome is.

Er, I don’t think he’ll be emailed or mailed - as far as I know, the only way to read the decision letter is online.

Thanks, Piper. I’ll let him know. :)

Yeah we don’t email or mail anything. So he’ll need to find out on decisions.mit.edu.

Presumably he’ll be ready to read it before April, or else he would have applied RD.

just make him read it. proloning it just makes you think you could get in

Also he really needs to check now because, as you said, if he was deferred or not admitted that may impact his admissions opportunities at other colleges, and time is scarce before most other applications are due.

DS checked the result right before I went to bed last night. The result? As he said, “ii was expecting that”.
Thanks everyone.
