Give gifts to my teachers? I've been doing it since elementary school, but something about this year just doesn't feel like the right time to be giving. I love my teachers, and I know I won't have them next year, but with the shooting, Hurricane Sandy, and some local issues, it doesn't seem appropriate to give gifts. I don't know, what you think?

I did it all through elementary and middle school, but stopped doing it once I got to high school. It’s a nice gesture, but by no means necessary.

That said, do what you wish, but if you ask me, it seems like the perfect time for giving.

I’d say go ahead if you want to. Sad things happen every day but that doesn’t discredit the gratitude you feel for your teachers and your education. That being said, gifts aren’t necessary, so don’t stress.

I used to give Dunkin Donuts gift cards… 10 bucks a pop, in Middle School… now I have 8 teachers… and I’m not rich.
