Showing language interest

How does one show colleges they love learning languages that aren't offered in school or are just to hard to self-study AP wise? I'm taking ap italian as a class in 12th and spanish 5 (ap spanish minus ap exam...) next year, but how do I account for german and latin? Take APs for them somehow?

Write about it in your essay...passion for learning about other people through their language?

You're right, great idea...doesn't hurt too much to visit Spain, Italy, and Germany by the beginning of senior year either.

Have your foreign language teacher write a recommendation including such information.

Question: Is it not considered "passionate" enough if I only took on another extra language in my sophomore year? It's pretty much unheard of in my school, taking two foreign languages, I mean. Should I try and study another outside of class?

jimbob there's just one problem: I don't know how any of the teachers at my school could account for german. I guess I could get my italian teacher to do a rec, but by the time he gets to know me, it will be time to mail everything in.....

Try your schools gifted support person - (s)he will probably have lots of other good stories to tell about you, and can throw in a paragraph about your interest in German.
