Sibling Preference at Rice?

Does anyone know how much Rice favors potential students whose siblings graduated from Rice (if at all)?
Just curious. Thank you.

I do not believe that a sibling is considered a “legacy”. I think that all schools prefer parents, etc (aka donors  )

It should barely be a considering factor in the process. You are 100 times more relevant than your sibling when it’s you who are applying.

Thanks guys, I was just making sure.

My daughter is at Rice and she would say that Rice likes families. She has many friends at Rice whose siblings have attended or are attending Rice.

I think that Rice highly values interest and what better way of showing interest than visiting your sibling at Rice.

Both my kids went to Rice and overlapped a year. Both had very good stats, gpa, etc. and strong areas of interests, so I don’t know how much the second’s acceptance had to do with his being a sibling. Both had fantastic educations and opportunities there, and really enjoyed their experience.
