vengasso University of Chicago is a great school but I wouldn’t say it slaughters georgetown…I think those two are actually very close in comparison. Uchicago coming out on top, but nonetheless Gtown and uc are close in academic quality.

College of the Ozarks accepts 9% of applicants.

New York University is also around 35% acceptance rate, yet is very prestigious.

I can agree that generally good schools have low acceptance rate, there are exceptions. The most prestigious schools have more applicants because people apply for the heck of it, or see if they can test there luck. Even if they know they aren’t getting in. University of Chicago is prestigious, yet not a “name-struck” universities, where people get off to the names such as Harvard, Princton, Yale and etc.

Simple math tells us that lower the applicants, higher the acceptance rate.

Higher the applicants, lower the acceptance rate.

UC isn’t as selective as other prestigious unis?!

/apply

I know people who were accepted to Yale, Harvard, and MIT, but waitlisted at UofC. Obviously it’s not that easy to get into.
