SIG/Gateway??

caliplaya03, did you try this?

f you wish to access Web Registration or OASIS and do not know your PIN, you may access the applications through MyUSC portal. The portal will authenticate you by your USC email username and password, instead of USC ID number and PIN. Follow the procedure below to access Web Registration and OASIS from MyUSC portal.

Launch your Internet browser program (Internet Explorer, Netscape, Safari, Firefox, etc.).

Enter the following URL at the address bar: https://my.usc.edu/portal/

Click the Login bar.

Enter your USC email username.

Enter your USC email password.

Click the Login button.

Locate the Web Registration and OASIS applications on the right side of the screen.

Click the application you wish to access.

Once you login to the portal, you may reset your OASIS and Web Registration PIN by following this procedure:

Select OASIS from the portal homepage.

Click the 3rd here link on the USC email policy page.

Scroll down on the OASIS services page.

Click the Change of PIN link.

Enter a new 6-digit PIN (You are not allowed to use your date of birth in mmddyy format as your PIN).

Re-enter the new 6-digit PIN.

Click the Submit button.

Thanks for the info NAgony..i saw this website already..and i realized that i dont have a usc emial username...

lol I really hope this is a hole or glitch in the system because I was able to log into the OASIS, man, lol it got my hopes up for a second. But then again, it would be awesome if I found out I was admitted through that........ sigh....

So i was just able to get into that OASIS site but only b/c i attended the 2005 usc summer seminar so i already have a transcript at usc that shows up on that site. For those of you already accepted who can access the site- is there anywhere that lets you know you've been accepted once you log onto the site?

OK now my heart is really pounding because when I logged into the SIG website (like 2 times a day for the past month) and checked my files on documentation, it always showed none, but now it shows them having received and reviewed my stuff. I can also log into the OASIS site...... AHH!!!! I wish I could find out already!!!!!!!!

Silly me...... can not log into the Explore USC website however..... darn....:(

haha how is everyone getting into the Oasis site lol.

I don't get it either. I don't have a PIN.

SenorMatador: Did you get 2 ID numbers? If neither of them work, then you haven't been accepted as of now. Don't worry, there's still 1.5 months for them to send out letters.

i've been playing around in Oasis tonight. I was able to create and log in to submit a student id picture and create a guest account on Oasis. Didn't actually do it, though, for obvious reasons. I still don't think it's conclusive. It says ID # but there's nothing that conclusively establishes enrollment. If Oasis is directly linked to SIG, then it doesn't mean anything since my SIG and Oasis access were simultaneous. So the question I pose is: has anyone who was previously able to log into SIG ONLY suddenly become able to log into OASIS? Or did we all get into SIG and Oasis at the same time (which supports the linking theory)?

I love this "beat the system" sort of vibe we got going on here. Trying to find the loopholes and connecting things with one another...... look at what USC has made us resort to!!
For5aken: 1.5 months is waaaay too long to live considering how I rush home to my mailbox everyday waiting to hear something, anything from USC.

sig works for me, but oasis does not... my usc doesn't work for me either... :(

1.5 months --> that's awful!!!!

I run to my mailbox every day as well, but there hasn't been a big red envelope yet. :(

I thought it was a white envelope?? And the OASIS webiste heading says "Welcome to OASIS for Students" but then again maybe I'm reading into that too much...

it is a big white envelope.
red lettering.

according to the Technical Help website at USC, it says "Students: Creation of accounts for the upcoming semester will start no earlier than two weeks before the first day of classes. After classes start, it usually takes two days before the information is available to set up a computer account. yada-yada-yada" So yea, we would not have USC e-mail accounts so we would not be able to log into the MyUSC portion.

Update: Woah.... was able to access part of OASIS where it has the class listings and you can add/drop classes, dont think USC should make that kind of stuff available to general public..... especially since I have not been admitted yet. Also has area for student records and what not (USC Department of Verification).. but obviously nothing there for me.

Ok, if some of you applicants/acceptees are able to access OASIS, then something is wrong. Cuz they don't activate your account until a few days before your orientation session in the summer. (or right before the first day of classes IF you don't attend orientation) Same goes with email.

Senor, the USC class schedule is freely available to the public w/o having to login to anything: www.usc.edu/soc.

I was waiting to see how long it would take for a current student to offer a condesceding objection.

Redski
I'm sure you remember how hard the waiting was. Be tolerant from the other side of the fence, okay? Can I interpret from what you posted that only actual students should be able to access Oasis? I remember last year some threads on here where applicants were checking Oasis to see if they could log in as sort of an early admissions test. Since not all of us can log in to Oasis, it's clearly not a system-wide error. However, I am keeping my emotions in check (and encourage the rest of us to do the same) because administrative/computer snafus happen all the time.

I must agree with NAgony, better to keep our emotions in check and whatnot. I'm sure redski didn't mean to come off as condescending, it just came out typed that way.

Uh-oh. I must have accidental clicked on something in Oasis because I got a phone message this morning from USCards saying I hadn't registered yet so could not get an ID card and forgot to submit my picture. Not even thinking about what this might mean....but somehow they had my phone number.

Strange. I got into Oasis as well. Are you sure this doesn't work for everyone? I tried both of my USC IDs, and only one worked, so maybe people just aren't trying the right ID (the one that worked was the one on my scholarship rejection letter).

both my id's dont work... so I don't think it works for everyone
