Sigh....

My UM application has been confirmed to be under the early response deadline, but many of my other requirements are still unreceived by UM. For my application status, it says that UM has received my SAT scores on Nov. 11 and my transcript on Nov.10, but UM hasn't received my teacher recommendation, counselor recommendation, and college transcript. According to the Embark system, both of my recommendations have been sent by Oct. 27. I talked to my counselor about the college transcript and she said that I didn't need it because my college class is under "dual enrollment" on my high school transcript. However, today I confirmed that UM needs it so I requested the college to send one.

Do I still meet the requirements for the ER deadline?

Wow, counseling fail. You most likely won’t make the deadline since they were missing that college transcript.

Man…are you serious…I spent so much time making sure I had everything postmarked by Nov.1. Well, I think there goes my chances for UM engineering.

Are you in Michigan? If so, ask your counselor to call the admissions rep & beg for forgiveness!

no…I am from Florida, but I think I am going to talk with my counselor and hopefully she will call them and talk to them.

yea. Like kelsmom said, i think you should beg for forgiveness cuz sometimes it works :stuck_out_tongue: haha
I dont know about umich but there was guy last year at my school who missed the ER deadline because our dbag counselor forgot to send his stuff. His Mom called the admission office and explained what had happened and begged so they considered him as an early applicant.
He got rejected though because his stats sucked.

~Fini~

lol…that is a funny story.
Do you guys think that I have a chance at UM engineering if I didn’t EA.
UW GPA:3.767
W GPA:4.791
SAT:2170

You still have a good chance at admission. Just get those materials in ASAP!

^^ yea. I think you have a good shot. Your stats are pretty sexy. Good luck!

The same thing has just happened to me. I didn’t send out my college transcript for dual enrollment classes and i am freaking out because i think i just ruined my chances of getting accepted. im going to the office of admissions on monday with the official transcript in a sealed envelope and am going to talk to a counselor and have my mother with me. Does anyone think that they will consider me as ER??? or is this not possible? please any advice?

i almost want to say you were lied to…

i took classes under dual credit as well in part with a college, and the grades appeared on my high school transcript as well, and when i asked my counselor told me the same thing.

i called UM and they said the same thing as well. there was no need for the college to send a transcript as long as it was clarified on my high school transcript. so i would say call UM and thoroughly explain whats going on and MAKE SURE they know what youre talking about. you can never be too careful. good luck

oh, and i was accepted under my conditions listed above, which is why im a little curious as to why UM is telling you something different from myself

@eivita3
omg are you 100% sure they told you this? because the UM agent i was talking to was chatting with me through live chat so maybe she didnt know what she was talking about. ive been panicking all weekend and it would be amazing news to hear that i really didnt need to send it in since the grades were on my high school transcript. on your wolverine access though, after you click application status and view credentials, when u scroll down to the bottom does it say College Transcript and then Not Received? because that is what it says now for me

I sent them a email with the exact question as above and this is their exact response:

"We do have your letters of recommendation. It takes us a couple of extra days to update Wolverine Access, but they are in our system. We are just waiting for your College Transcript. Unfortunately, we do need the transcript to consider your application complete in time for the Early Response deadline. You will receive a decision following the modified rolling admissions review process. Our expectation is that applicants will be notified of a final decision no later than mid-April.

Good-luck with your academic endeavors! GO BLUE!"

and ur high school includes the grades and classes on your high school transcript?

Yeah…I don’t understand why I need to waste 6 dollars on a college transcript if it is already on my high school transcript.

@kdabest9 & eivita3: This happened to me too!! I’m still not sure what will happen to me. My counselor has already called and emailed our UM rep, but he hasn’t responded yet. I thought that since the course I took was on my HS transcript, they wouldn’t need my college transcript. Agh. I live in MI though. I really hope I’m not rejected because of this. >.>

@quitevaild its the worst feeling ever! ive been having a panic attack all weekend and cant wait till tomorrow morning so i can do something about this! i have a 3.9 gpa but a 25 act, everything else is awesome but i just need to be considered ER to get in my act score is too low! i cnt belive i found out about this now

i sent kdabest9 an email last night on my phone, but i dont know if it went through. basically long story short. i took dual college courses at a college near my high school.

i didnt sent in a college transcript, nor did i order one. i just sent in my highschool transcript. and i’ve been accepted. i called the admission rep. and she told me very clearly if the grades were on my high school transcript, i wouldnt need to sent in a college one.

but i really dont know what else to tell you guys… i hope it works out for yall.

@eivita3 really? so sorry i didnt get your email…and i rlly hope im told the same thing when i call in tomorrow. do you know anyone else that this has happened to and has also been accepted? did u apply to school of lsa?

yeah i sent it on my half broken phone last night and it kind of just refreshed the page when i hit send, so it probably didnt go through.

Like i said i took 2 courses at a college and i was told it was not necessary, but from what im hearing a lot of you are being told the complete opposite so i really dont know what to tell you guys.

I dont know of anyone else that this has happened to because from what i know im pretty much the only one that has applied to michigan from my school, and yes i applied to lsa

i hope everything works out for everyone thats in this jumble.
