Signed up for the wrong ACT...

So I signed up for the ACT without writing accidentally, and now it's too late to change it. The problem is all the schools I am applying to require the writing portion of the exam. However, I have taken the SAT and am planning on sending it too, so should I just use the ACT as a sort of supplement (can I even send it even though I do not have the writing part?) Thank you!

Yes, you should be able to if you have your SAT score.

S’12 did the same thing and was able to add it by showing up at the testing site early and paying an additional fee. It was not difficult.

Now I see the ACT folks have an even easier way to do it: http://www.actstudent.org/faq/writing.html</a> - it can’t be too late to change it, the deadline to register isn’t even here yet and you can change it online up until the late registration deadline or at the testing site the day of.

I would agree with you, but unfortunately the place I live in only has three testing sites… and they’re all booked up on the writing exam.

Hmm. Did you email ACT to see if they had a solution?

@OHMomof2‌ Not yet, but thanks for the idea. I’ll do that right away. If worse come to worse, I could beg my guidance counselor to push for another seat for the Writing exam, since one of the test centers is in my school.
