Significant drop in scores

I just saw my SAT scores…I scored a 2300 on my first try last time, and this time I scores a whole 2100 points lower…Will this hurt me when I apply to schools like Rice and UT austin? The only reason I tried again was to score even higher than my already great score to offset my grades…but looks like I can’t do that now. Should I just prep for the ACT??

I know its not much help but if its any consolation I too am disappointed with my score (especially in the writing section.) Congrats on the 2300 last time - incredible :slight_smile:

you scored 2100 pts lower than 2300?
you got a 200!!!
WHAT A G

You shouldn’t have retaken in the first place.

Why the obsession with the tests? Why would you take the ACTs if you already have a 2300 on the SATs. IS this identical to another thread with a different OP name? Competitive schools would probably not choose you if they knew you were so stuck on these tests-=move on.

@thetex Hahaha love that comment

It’s not a big deal. Just use score choice and delete it
