Significant School Award & how to report that now during ED?

This morning I got a call from my son’s guidance officer. She tell me that my son would receive his school’s highest award. It’s a secret to him, we can’t tell him, etc., but please come on "x’ day for the assembly…a day after the ED decisions come out. Fine, great, thanks. I hang up.

Afterwards I start thinking. We should probably report this to his ED college now. Maybe I should ask the guidance office to do this. But I’ve asked them for so much already this year. And I can’t have my son report this to his ED college rep, cause it’s a secret to him. So should I contact his ED college rep and tell her about this award and ask her to contact the guidance office for more info? OR should I ask the guidance office if they can possibly contact the ED college…even though it seems like they’ve been doing stuff for us non-stop this September?? Thoughts?

Ask your GC if they can report it to his college (if he gets in, the GC is done for the year for him).

Makes sense…I really feel sorry for their volume of work.

Ask your GC to do it, yes they are busy, but this is their job. You should not contact the college AO.
