SO, I am consistently getting a 26-28 in math, and (considering I only need a 27 composite and my reading and english scores are in the 30s and my science is consistently a 26-27, that is ok. Bleh. But ok.
Here's the thing though. I get 13-15 problems wrong in math. but 6-8 OF THEM ARE ALWAYS STUPID MISTAKES!!!! If I could cut down on my stupid mistakes, I could have close to a 30 in math, and that would be so amazing. I really try and focus while I do the math, but I am pressured for time and don't have time to double check my answers. ANy tips you have are massively appreciated!

Same problem lol

Slow down.

I used to finish with ~10 minutes of free time and I was consistently getting 34 - 35. All of the mistakes I did were those “silly” ones, so what worked for me was to slow down, spend more time on each question and not “assume” stuff.

For example, in last practice test, there was a simple quadratic formula and they were asking for the solution(s). For some reason, I immediately assumed that there will be 2 solutions, so I only checked -b / 2a and I didn’t realize that discriminant could be 0…

I used to make the same mistakes for the SAT (different test but same thing, stupid mistakes) and I would finish the section with 10 minutes left over. While doing the math section, I wouldn’t bubble anything into my answer sheet and then I would go back and redo all the problems. If I got the same answer as first time, I would bubble it in. If not, I would spend a minute or two redoing the problem. It really helped me get my score from 750s to 800.

see, if I had ANY extra time, I would triple check everything! My problem is, I barely finish and I need to work fast to even achieve barely finishing =/
