Stupid mistakes plague me... any tips?

I breeze through the math... then realize I made stupid arithmetic mistakes that lower my score significantly. How do yall do it?

hmmmmm . . . . Have you tried not making those stupid mistakes ??? It might help. I mean, seriously.

Yes because in the past I have been purposely making mistakes… thanks for the tip? what is your problem

Frankly, I breeze through the math, while concentrating and paying attention, and at the end get a good score. Just concentrate and dont hurry too much.

P.S. I dont have problems. If you could ask this question (how d yall do it?), you can take a little sarcasm.

gonna have to agree with freightrain. the rudeness of YAHA’s reply is unwarranted and uncalled for.

my tip is that if you breeze through the math, you probably have a lot of time left, like I usually did. Use this time to go back and thoroughly check answers. Sometimes I feel like I have enough time to do one section TWICE in the time they give. I don’t know if you already rigorously double check, but that’s all the advice I can give you.

a lot of strong math students are careless, just recheck. it can be tedious but it is necessary for a perfect score. If you do not know how to check efficiently, redo all the problems.

Also remember to check the ends of the questions because they might ask for example, x+4 instead of x.

The problem is probably the fact that you’re breezing through it. Slow down, think through the questions carefully, write down all the steps, and try to solve each question two different ways so you can check yourself.

Nothing’s more important here than showing all of your work. It’ll help.

Before bubbling in, reread the question to be sure you answered what they ask for, such as 2x instead of just x.

You HAVE to use the right equipment, it’s a MUST

the right equipment? like… bring a pencil and calculator? what are you talking about lol?

How about instead of rushing, you just work on it slowly? Checking does nothing because you usually make the same mistake over again.

Like others have said, slow down. I have the same problem as you, I breeze through the test, finish early, and then make stupid mistakes. Instead, you should take your time and really think about each question as you’re going along. This will leave you with less time at the end, but you’ll catch a lot of the stupid mistakes as you’re going.

for me, i went through the first half really fast, and the last half took a while longer (harder questions) but i still had 20 minutes left. i made four stupid mistakes in the first half. so i suggest to CHECK your work, esp. the first half. or you could work slower…but i’d feel more comfortable if i actually rechecked.

oh, make sure you read all the answer choices…haha
