Silly question!but sort of important...

I gave my prof. and advisor common app forms and stamped envelops yesterday. I know I was silly to start it in such a early time, but both of my prof will go to Europe for research and lecture next semester. So I must have the recommendation done before the end of this semester.(my school will be closed after next final exam week finished)

That brought a new problem. I dont have enough time to submit all my application before christmas break cuz I really need a long period to ponder and compose the essays! Thus I cant submit the application and pay the application fees now. Nontheless I'm afraid my prof and advisor will send out recommendations before I submit my application. Will those schools throw away the very IMPORTANT recommendations due to my not paying application fees yet or not submitting the application? Thank you, any input is aprreciated! I know I am silly, but please, this question is really significant. I bet there must exist some folks having the same problem.

My understanding is that when a school receives any type of application item (app form, recommendation form, transcript, etc), they start a file on you and hold it until they receive all required items. I would assume its not all that uncommon for schools to receive supporting documents b4 the actual application.

Agreed. You may send any components of the application at any time before the deadline and in any order.

Send the admissions office an e-mail or letter with a quick explanation along with your SS# or other ID so you get a clean file started. Not a bad idea to have profs writing letters on your behalf to include similar ID info.

Best of luck.

Thank you all so much! I told my prof to attach the recommendation with the instructor eval. which I fill out with my SS# and email address on them.
Thank you dadoffour, i will send emails to explain and let them start a file on my applications! :)
