<p>UMass Boston does not have any dorms, so it is all commuter students. If they ever built some dorms on campus, they could attract students who would rather be in Boston than Amherst IMO.</p>
<p>Both Emmanuel and Simmons have dorms. You can check their stats but something like 70 to 90% of the students live on campus. Emmanuel would likely be lower ranked academically by guidebooks than SC, but that information is out of date when it comes to sciences (biology, chemistry) in which the schools are probably now equal. In the last 10 years, EC went coed, increased enrollment by 4 times, built a new science building, built a new student center, and is currently renovating the main building to be completely modern inside.</p>
<p>Simmons remains all women. Has a solid academic reputation compared to the other 2 schools in all programs it offers. </p>
<p>As a student at EC or SC, you can cross-register at each school as well as at the other Colleges of the Fenway.</p>
<p>I’m not sure if any of these schools are even looking at the SAT Writing score, but with your SAT you are easily admitted to all these schools if you have at least a 2.5 GPA IMO.</p>

<p>Umass Boston has in recent years offered student housing at Harbor Point and The Peninsula. It is my understanding that over 80% of the units in these developments now house students, but check with the housing office at UMass to check.</p>
<p>I have friends at each school. I would say Emmanuel is most rigorous, Simmons next, and Umass Boston last. In terms of academic reputation Emmanuel and Simmons are about tied, and UBoston is beneath them both.</p>
