SAT1: 2040
SAT2: US HIstory 720
MATH IIC 760
TOEFL : 292 (cbt) - does ND still accept cbt score?

GPA : 4.45 weighted

EC:
Sports- three sports( all varsity since freshmen)
Awards for academics, and sports(MIP)
Moderate EC. Volunteer work, work experiece , community service.

Can you possibly give us the breakdown of your SAT (ND really doesn't look too much at the writing section) and also give us an idea of what your class rank is? We would be happy to give you a guestimate but this information is crucial. Also, are you an international student and if so will you need financial aid?

I would say that you should aim to bring the CR score up above 700. Your SAT score is great as it is, but getting both your CR and Math sections above 700 would look great b/c ND likes to look at the SAT score. Otherwise, good rank + varsity sports = a pretty good shock. As of now, however, you blend in with alot of other applicants. You need to focus on how to differentiate yourself from the rest. For example, while my average was not as high as other people's, I used my EC's and SAT score to show how I was a unique applicant. Also, you should not apply EA because you think it will give you a better shot. EA is for applicants who's statistics put them at an "above average" shot of getting in and want a result by December.

I agree, I think you have a good shot but retaking the SAT may be worthwhile. I know you didn't mention the financial aid but do know that ND is not need blind to international students (which I believe you said you were international in another thread) so that may be something to consider. However, if you need the aid, be sure to say so. It is just something worth mentioning. Anyways, good luck!

In response to your TOEFL questions, I am not sure how ND is, but I think many schools look at the TOEFL score as kind of pass/fail (either you make their cutoff or you don't), although it may help offset your CR score, I am not really sure. Also, I wouldn't worry about ND accepting the cbt score as long as your TOEFL score is still valid. I think you have a pretty good chance considering your GPA and rank, but, as irish mentioned, financial aid for international students can be tricky. If you need a lot of help, start looking into private scolarship opportunities as soon as possible. Out of curiosity, what country are you from?
