Simple Question

Is it any easier or harder to get into Penn if you're from PA? I know that geographic diversity is a factor in admissions, so does being from PA help or hurt you at Penn?

if you live within the city limits of philadelphia, it helps for sure. if you live in the suburbs, while you won’t get any diversity points, it does help that penn has strong relationships with most of the surrounding high schools. virtually every strong student in the philly area applies to penn, so there is indeed a high level of competition, but I do not believe that it will break your application or anything like that.

I’m not from anywhere near Philly. About 3 hrs away

in that case you might miss out on the whole “strong relationship with your high school” thing
