Since UF is rolling admin can I apply now and send in SAT in Oct?

Hi, I'm still confused when it comes to applying to college. UF remains a top choice for various reasons and I'm trying to submit the app as early as possible. I need to retake my SAT this upcoming Oct as a senior, since they have rolling admissions don't they evaluate apps as they receive them? Will they evaluate me based on my past SATs (unfortunately, I send them through collegeboard)? Or will they wait?

Please any help is appreciated, thank you.

Also: I'm trying to start the app but it says "Freshman The Freshman application deadline has passed." ?

I don’t think that UF has opened up applications for summer B of 2013 or fall 2013 yet. Give it a few more weeks and I’m sure they will be up.

UF is not rolling admissions. UCF has rolling admissions where they will evaluate your application as they receive it completed. UF has deadlines for when certain things are due. For example(I am an incoming freshmen fall 2012), The application portion was due October 30th last year. SAT and ACT scores were due sometime in December. December 15th I want to say. So you definitely have time to get that taken care of.

Further, UF, like most schools, only really looks at your highest subscore in each section of the SAT( I never took the ACT so I don’t really know). For example, the first time I took the SAT I got a 640 in writing and the second time I ended up blowing it off and got like a 580, but they still just looked at the 640. They don’t really care about your other lower scores as far as I know. They just accept the highest subscores on each section of the test.

Hope I helped.

I believe applications open up August first. I have no idea about the SAT but they DO NOT superscore ACT

UF is not rolling admissions. And I think the application becomes available in August. But you can apply when it becomes available and send your SAT scored after the fact. As long as you get your scores in before December, you’re fine and you will get a notification of admission sometime in February along with everyone else who applied.

Thank you all so much! I really appreciate it. I just wanted to apply ASAP to have a greater chance of getting in and scholarships. I was under the impression that UF was rolling, just because last year at my school someone from UF came to talk to us and told us that they evaluated apps as they received them. But maybe that changed.

Applying on the first day does not help your admissions chances. Taking the time to submit a complete and coherent application does. You should at least wait until school starts so you can be sure your schedule isn’t going to change or you won’t add an early extra curricular activity.

Okay, thanks Melissa.
