I think RGS girls who are really interested in the arts and music are the exception and not the norm, from my personal experience. But if you are comparing with the general population, then it may seem so because I think the level of interest in arts and music is above the national average.

I think it has to do with the students themselves.

I have zero interest in art or music. Well, not in the conventional sense at least. Though I think we did have our fair share of arts events; we had some annual Arts Fest or something but I never knew what they did because I always skipped school on festivals/events. =p I won't say there is a greater emphasis because apart from the slightly more "artsy" environment, there wasn't anything particularly special in terms of curriculum.

Hmm, been a while since I last checked here. Anyone here coming to Penn this fall?

Anyone got accepted into UIUC this fall?or anyone going to Washington?

Hey guys, I just got admitted to both Duke and Brown! Now I'm in a dilemma (a pretty good one). For a Biology major which one do you think is a better place? Are there any alumni here?

Penn Class of 2010 anybody? drop me a msg :)

visceral >> my friend goes to brown biology, and shes having a pretty grand time. cant tell u much about the major itself, cept that she says she has to do plenty of maths still (ha! your math curse aint over). go talk to alumni or current students and decide. bestofluck and congrats on admittance!

Thanks for the advice! Btw, Duke and Brown do keep the place for you if you are in NS right? I would be crushed if they did not, cos from what I know, only Upenn and UCBerkeley doesnt keep the place for 2 years.

Darn that PSC scholarship

Wao... both are good!!
Why not go visiting first?

duke, brown and upenn allow deferment for 2 years, but yeah berkeley notoriously doesn't. brown and duke are really quite different... the atmosphere at brown is said to be more laid-back, not that academics are weak, just that the students are more fun-loving and not cut-throat - at least more so than those at duke. as for duke, i'm not so sure. bio med engin / bio engin are supposedly very very competitive, i am not so sure about biology though...

that'r right. brown and penn do allow deferments. the RJ homepage has a site dedicated to explaining the details of US applications. really helpful. i'm from HC and every bugger checks it out before applying...
