Do single dorms cost more? How much?

I will be swimming at Dartmouth and do not want to inconvenience roomates at 5:00 am for morning practices. How hard is it for a freshman to get a single dorm?

Thanks

i thought all EW dorms are singles, and a bunch of river dorms are also singles. i've no idea about the cost, tho, altho i was under the impression that it wouldn't cost more...

it all costs the same

Not all EW dorms are singles.

There are singles all around campus. Every dorm has singles. However, there's no way to request one. Freshmen get their placements based on luck. If you want more privacy apply to East Wheelock, almost everyone there has their own room (singles, two room doubles, three room doubles, etc). Same holds true for the River (everyone does have their own room, some even have a common room), but you can't apply there.
But don't worry about annoying other people with your practice, everyone here has their own schedule and part of learning to live with someone is dealing with that kind of thing. They'll understand as long as you don't go around being noisy and trying to wake them up.
My friend's roomate is a football player and they've found no issues. When one goes to bed early, the other is quiet for him, when the other wakes up early he's quiet. Common respect goes a long way for making compatable roomates, no matter how their lives conflict.
