<p>I don’t know any statistics, but I would think that the chances would be high since more people choose to live with roommates (less expensive). From what I remember last year, some girls wanted to room in a double and got put into their second choice, a single (you list your preferences of dorming through rank in the application in June-ish).</p>

<p>Actually, no. You probably won’t get a single. Someone who works in Mesa once told me that every year tons of incoming students apply for the single, like you. There’s typically only one single per residence hall, so obviously they can’t accommodate everyone.</p>
<p>Honestly, if you want to live on campus you’re going to have to live with a roommate sooner or later.

<p>I don’t know about Mesa, but I know Middle Earth has at least one entire hall that is made of all singles (Quenya). Just thought I’d throw that in here.</p>

<p>Each hall is part of a “cluster” and it looks like the site says Quenya is part of the “Academic and Career Options”. I checked and I don’t see anything about a hall for transfer students only. But things could have changed and if that’s the case, I don’t know about that :)</p>

Plus, assuming your a freshman, wouldn’t you kind of want to have a roommate? IDK, I just think it would be a good bonding/college experience. It’s no fun being a loner! :P</p>

<p>To play devil’s advocate, don’t let anyone make you feel bad about wanting a single either if that’s what you want 
My friends who had singles said the best thing to do is to always keep your door open, and being in a single, it was more convenient for them to have friends over. And if you do get a single, hopefully you can get into an all-singles hall like Quenya where everyone else will be in the same boat so you won’t feel left out. :)</p>
<p>Ohh, I see. Yeah, I’ve experienced living with roommates before and I didn’t like it, and I don’t want to risk living with someone who I’ll end up disliking. I’ll just think about this for the next month or so. Thanks PoorCookie :)</p>
<p>Not to worry, if you absolutely hate your roommate(s) you can request a room change. Of course, this requires time, having a meeting, and a valid reason, so choose carefully! Good luck :)</p>

Oh, one student also told me she had a single, but got so lonely that she requested to join a room. Now she lives in a triple. </p>

<p>Hahah, last year one of my friends hated his roommate so much, he requested for a room change. Luckily for him, two guys in one double got kicked out for too many violations so he got a double all for himself.</p>
