Is it possible for a freshmen to get a single? I reallyyyyyyy want one.

This has been answered before, but to reiterate briefly:

Most freshmen get triples. You'll be lucky, very lucky, to get a double.
Singles may be out of reach unless you have a disability or some other compelling health/medical reason to get one.

edit: mnucla beat me --^

I think DWM and BG have singles, so it is technically possible.

it does happen, but it's pretty much due to sheer luck.

and i do mean sheer, dumb, luck.

To get a single as a freshmen you'll need some sort of excuse from a professional. and it won't be a nice spacious single with a private bathroom, you'll get a tiny single and still share the bathroom with 4 others.

is there any way to get a room with a private bathroom? like even in a double/triple, just not a communal bathroom. is it possible? (for freshmen)

That's very possible. Just ask for a plaza and put Double and Triple ahead of Double Shared and Triple Shared.

thank you!

live in de neve

yah, don't sign up for a res hall, and like grapesoda said, skip the shared.

but honestly, a shared bath is sometimes BETTER than a private bath. especially if you are a girl with roomies who love long showers in the morning and primping and all that crap.

typical morning- all i wanna do is brush my teeth and use the toilet. could i in de neve? no, roomie was in the shower... still in the shower... still in the shower... so i end up using the public bathroom on my way to class x.x

so a shared bath prevents this from happening. there's 2 sinks and separate toilet/shower, and even if you're sharing with 5 other girls, it's really less of a problem.

DWM and BG are psychotic, they NEED singles. People like them shouldn't have roommates!

I don't know why people dislike communal bathrooms, I personally really like it. Makes showering more fun because you get to chill and talk to floormates and what not. Plus you almost never have to wait to shower, use the toilet, etc...--I never did.

well, i never have to wait in the singles either ;)

well that's because you never shower. ;)

no, it's because i shower at 2am...

One morning, I got up feeling very happy and good about the world, when I stepped into my communal bathroom and found trails of vomit leading from the sink to the toilets.

Feeling the need to vomit myself, but not actually doing so, I quickly bolted to South's communal restrooms. Needless to say, my day was ruined and it was hard to keep food down.

Hence, my loathing of communal bathrooms.
Last year's private bathrooms were much nicer, until the cleaning woman quit and it a month for ORL to send over a new one.
