Any opinions about which to pick on the housing form? Single gender (female) building isn't an option.

To be honest, as a freshman, you won’t have much choice as to where you live. If you’re in a special program (honors, scholars, civicus), you’ll be in a dorm designated for that, but other than that, you’ll most likely be placed in one of the traditional “freshmen” dorm. All the other students already at UMD will be doing their housing selections soon. This is not to say that you won’t end up in Oakland or one of the more desirable dorms…they will fill any empty beds with freshmen in all the dorms, but the odds are that you’ll be in one of the high-rise older dorms.

There is only 1 hall on campus that offers single gender housing for females which is Cecil Hall. I have no idea how you get in it, but if you have a religious or ethical reason for it then I would contact Resident Life
