yeah, it seems like you can SIR at more than one, but you just lose the $100

Hmmm....I submitted my SIR to Berkeley.

I was ABOUT to submit to UCLA, until I saw this on Step 1:

"Note: you may only submit one positive University of California SIR.
Acceptance of more than one UC offer may jeopardize your enrollment."

communist smurf submitted 2 SIRS two years ago...maybe they have changed their policy since then.

?

I called UCLA today and they said they would let me submit my SIR to them and wait for other private universities. If I went somewhere else, I just needed to withdraw from UCLA. Simple as that.

I hope it's true that "there is no official 'penalty' for sending multiple SIRs."

Don't do it!!! I did it a couple of years ago and scary people came to my house. They gagged me, stuffed a bag onto my head, tied me up, and shoved me into some black van half naked (I was still in my boxers; I also sleep shirtless)! I was taken into a dark, empty room where they did "things" to me, and let me tell you, I've never been the same since....

Eh, whatever. I'm gonna do it.

I visited my friend at Berkeley today, whose roommate submitted 2 SIRs to UCSD and Berkeley. He chose Berkeley in the end, but nothing happened from it. He simply faxed a letter to UCSD to withdraw his SIR. (AND he did this several weeks AFTER the SIR deadline.) No big deal.

I also talked to my other friend at Berkeley who also submitted 2 SIRs. Nothing happened.

I'm gonna do it too. Due to many complications I really can't decide by Jun 1.

You've been warned!!
