SIRs and not attending

After I submit my SIR to the UC I choose to attend, do I have to let the other UCs that I was accepted to know I’m not going or does just not submitting their SIR by the deadline take care of that?

you have to submit your sir's to the other uc's, except you send them a "rejection" sir. i have done this for some uc's already. logon to the site and there should be an option to "decline the offer of admission"

You don't HAVE to decline the other schools. If they don't hear from you by May 1 they'll assume you're not coming. But sending in the negative SIR is the polite thing to do.

What about sending in the SIR and then actually end up NOT going?

PXalpine: there's probably a huge penalty for that.. not sure. you are breaking a contract, they can technically sue you. but who knows

Hmm... I thought all they did was take your down payment on tuition (down payment? maybe... you know what I mean).

BackToReality

but its a technically a contract. even "winning" an ebay auction is a contract... most people don't put in the effort to sue cuz its not worth it but technically you can.

you really have to let the uc's know, or they'll contact each other and ban you from there campus
