New this term are regulations put in place to cut down on possibility of distractions in classes -- now all Jackets, Backpacks etc are to be left in hall outside classroom has unveiled problems with thievery at Academy. Any of your kids complained about loosing expensive items (uniform pieces, computer accessories etc...)

I have never heard of the regulation, it may just be a certain teacher that does this, but it is not an academy wide reg.

I heard a polar bear statute is missing from the campus of the CGA.

back in the day there were definately certain teachers that did not allow jackets in the classroom. I can think of at least Capt. Hard that had this policy. Never had the backpack policy though.

Since I'm not there anymore I can't comment on whether there is a policy or not, but it would seem to be overkill to make everyone leave their packs outside. Especially seeing as though I would have to leave the room all the time for forgetting stuff in my bag.

As for stuff being stolen it wouldn't surprise me from the academic buildings. There are many people with access to those buildings. It is rare for something to go missing in the barracks and I think that is simply due to a restriction on access that they don't have in the academic buildings.

I know what you're thinking Boss. I had nothing to do with that. I swear. I did not send any of my KPer's over there to take it hostage. Uh. You didn't say... Was a note left by any chance? Maybe it was the Army guys........ ;)

8Kidsmom- Just chatted with my crazy Plebe. He says he's heard of that rule but it hasn't been enforced because the teachers/prof. realized the error of it. Jamz said that everyone would leave their things in the halls then on the way out pick up the wrong book bag or jacket because, and I quote, "they all look the FRICKIN' SAME". He added that at the end of the day, kids were constantly taking things back to one another.

The way he typed the capital letters made me wonder if he wasn't one of "the" kids who was returning items. I shoulda asked that dang it.

this is the first ive heard of this

JM reportedly the Bear statute has turned up in the attic of a neo-classical mansion in the deep south...exact location witheld at the request of the DHS.
I'm SHOCKED to see you SPUTE epa-thets on this distinguished discussion board...HA!

8kidsmom....

My son said that he too had heard of this rule, but that it's not enforced.
Nor has he heard of any thefts.
