I am split between UIUC or SIU for my UG Geology degree. I really prefer SIU because I like the area so much better, but I am unsure about the program at that college. Is there anybody that can tell me about the programs from either school? How rigorous are the programs there, what are the professors like, ug research opportunities, internships, and what employers think of the school? About me, I am a vet, so college is pretty much free for me, as is cost of living, so they don’t matter. I grew up in central IL and I hate champaign, but the school there has the prestige. I plan on getting a masters, so I don’t know that the ug is gonna matter too much, unless it will prevent me or not properly prepare me for grad work. Thank you in advance:)
