I have lots of time to decide, but I want some opinions and experience. I’ll make a pros and cons list for each school.
For SJSU (San Jose State University), I applied and was accepted into Engineering.
Pros: SJSU is closest to home; Internship opportunities in Silicon Valley and other areas; heavily interested in martial arts and the Judo club is amazing; Lots of martial arts opportunities; I will be able to train at my dojo; can probably get a job due to connections; heard the social life is awesome; surrounding city.
Cons: I want to get out of Northern California; bothers me knowing that people will judge me on picking a CSU over UC; I heard/believe many of my high school classmates are attending SJSU (I don’t like this).
For UC San Diego I applied and was accepted into Undeclared.
Pros: Top UC school; great engineering program; San Diego is a great city; in Southern California.
Cons: I heard on a tour that people usually graduate in 5-6 years rather than 4; Not sure of any karate down there; Triton Eye?; Tough to transfer to engineering; huge campus so longer walks haha.
If I get accepted into UCI or UCLA off of the waitlist, I’m going to those schools.
