UC Davis vs San Jose State

Hello all.
So I been accepted to SJSU, and I'm waiting on UCD. I'm a computer engineering major and I'm wondering which one is better for said major.
SJSU is in the Silicon Valley. They focus more on practical things than research. They have co-ops meaning go to school and have a paid internship after classes.

UCD Is UC. They focus more on theory. I do plan on getting my masters so going to a UC would help me in achieving that.
Please help add more cons or pros to my list. Anyone who's in the trade how are these schools viewed at your work place.

Hmm, seems like a tough choice.

If your priority really is on going to graduate school for engineering, I suppose UC Davis is the school you should go to. You’ll still have access to decent opportunities in the engineering world after graduation.

Although I don’t think SJSU will excessively diminish your chances of getting in to grad school. To be honest, you might do well at either school in regards to your future goals.

@Cayton hmm you think UCD has a better student life than SJSU. I also want to enjoy my time in college so that will probably be a factor in my decision.

@USChopefull

I don’t really know, sorry. Others on this forum might know, though.

Im stuck with the same decision but UCSD and SJSU, i will probably not go to grad school, but then everyone keeps telling me the quality of education between UCSD and SJSU is night and day, and althought UCSD is not in Silicon Valley, they still offer numerous internships (but not as many as SJSU). So i’m forever a damsel in distress -.-

Well is that the only thing you’re looking at in a school? A good education? Not location, student life, meeting new people?

In the end of day, I would have select a program that meet your every needs. For me is the quality of education, with the education from SJSU will able to help you throughout your career? I really don’t consider much on connections and such because both SJSU and UCSD are great on those. If you are really good, the companies will find you.

I live in san diego, so i know how it is over here and the social life. It aint UCSB but theres plenty of more other activities to do.

@bjt223 but for computer science some look at school and some look at experience so, its why its a hard decision
