my school isnt IB but our entire curriculum (sciencemathenglish) is based on IGCSE. i mean we use the that books as textbooks but we arent obliged to take the test. and i didnt quite get what did you mean but yes my school has partnership with cambridge. I never thought of taking cambridge exams.
What she means is that you should have proof of completing a secondary education, such as an IGCSE certificate. This could also be your country’s national exam
About a week left for you ED II guys to hear back!
oh god how i am excited! constantly two sentences are glimpsing in my head ‘we regret to inform you…’ and ‘congratulations…’. btw what are your TOEFL scores international people?
Our decision comes back mid march. I emailed to double check. @munit123
Yeah @Lisa MK RD has about a month left!
@iambibliophile Don’t worry about what it’s gonna be okay?
@iambibliophile I didn’t have to give TOEFL or IELTS because I studied in British Schools, they don’t require those if you’ve studied in English.
Look you’ve done everything you could have, now we just cross our fingers and wait.
@iambibliophile best of luck!! my TOEFL score is 125
@iambibliophile Oh I didn’t need to submit it because my first language is English
what haha that was a typo, i meant 115
@neuromaniac out of what? cuz IBT is max 120. Good luck to you too!
@munit123 @LisaMK my school is english too but i have sent it anyways. i dont know if it was a good move or not cuz my score wasnt breathtaking or something. it was actually the min requirement 96/120
Haha I even read 115. That score was impossible for me to notice at first glance
If you submit your TOEFL score, and it is not below 96/120, you’re fine. it’s just a minimum requirement. Nevertheless, Skidmore says it can accept applicants with a score that is a bit lower if they prove to be competitive in the rest of their application. They just have to go for this English camp during the Summer before they start classes!
i wish i had prepared for Toefl. guess i wont go to english camp anyway. thats cool, nobody would like that after studying english this long :-S
Haha good for you!
less than a week left ED IIs !!!
To help put some of you at ease, this is an excerpt I took from a Skidmore live chat transcript from 2013:
shedeene -> Admissions_Ariana I am extremely fearful to apply to skidmore because of my SAT scores but I have a lot of extra curricular activities. Would my extracurricular activities help balance out my application a bit?
Admissions_Ariana -> shedeene Hi shedeene! Your SAT scores are just one part of what we look at when considering your application, and they are not the most important factor. The most important part of your application is your high school transcript. Strong extracurricular activities will also be taken into consideration!
And now the most frequent question we usually ask:
stevenc -> Admissions_Ariana What would you say admission looks for in students ?
Admissions_Ariana -> stevenc Thanks for your question, Steven! We look first at the strength of your academic record - the quality of your high school courses, your achievement in those courses, your recommendations, and your standardized test scores. We also look for well-rounded students who will make a positive contribution to the Skidmore community!
When were decisions emailed to International students in last admissions cycle?
I don’t know about ED II, probably around Feb 15th. But for RD, some came in March 15th, some around March 24th
