Has anyone been accepted from the Skidmore waitlist yet? If so, how were you notified?

Here in "Parents Forum" somebody might reply, BUT...

You might have better luck also posting this thread under Skidmore.

To find it: Click on "Discusion Home" then scroll down to a sub-heading called "Alphabetic List of Colleges" and then of course, click "S" Good luck

Hey, I was waitlisted for fall 09 at skidmore as well and I haven’t heard yet and I haven’t heard of anyone getting off it yet.

Skidmore called my D last week to tell her she was admitted off the waitlist. They requested she notify them within a couple of days. She thanked them but told them that she will instead be attending Lehigh. I think the elite small colleges now realize they should have outright accepted more students because of the economic downturn. The next best opportunity to attend Skidmore will be during the “summer melt” period when students who accepted admission to Skidmore and a lower tuition school decide they can’t afford Skidmore and pull out giving up their deposit. I would keep in contact with the admissions department informing them that Skidmore is still your 1st choice and that you would definitely attend if accepted during the summer. These colleges all know parents send in more than one deposit because their child is still hopeful they’ll get into their dream school. There will definitely be ecomically challenged families that will be withdrawing over the summer. The main problem is that you will have to pay the full tuition price.
