Skiers and boarders...

My school is the only one in the entire state to still have school this week I think. The senioritis tells me I should take Friday off and go to Alpine Meadows because there's 2 feet of fresh in the Sierras. Anyone else here a (wannabe) ski bum? How many days have you skied this year? Whats your favorite resort? Favorite skis/board?

I wanna be a ski bum, but my desire to be a doct. prevents that. I ski at Stratton, and around my State. This season I dont have many days under my belt, maybe 30. Skis and equipment, all atomic racestock stuff. I race so all my stuff if race ready.

Ski bum right here!
unfortunately i can't hit the slopes until spring break. but i'm goin to squaw valley!! i used to live in CA, but then moved to the east coast a few years ago and was very saddened when i found out we didn't have that week off in february. and i would say go for the hills. fresh snow is too good to pass up for school.
i'm rather partial to squaw valley. it's a yearly tradition (except Dodge Ridge when i was reallyyyy little). and we used to go to Sierra Summit on the weekends every now and then...but i'm scared to try east coast skiing. im just spoiled from the Sierras.
i actually don't have a favorite pair of skis...the last time i actually owned a pair was a looong time ago and we don't go enough for me to get a pair. same with boarding, i've only been once but had to go back to skis for the rest of the trip because the weather was too nice to be spent on my rear end.

it's so hard to be a ski bum in D.C.

Also a skiier in DC but I wouldn't consider myself a ski junkie or ski "bum"... I only ski one week a year. There really isn't decent skiing on the east coast so we go for 7-10 days once a winter to someplace.. Vail, Banff, Whistler, etc. My parents take weekends but I just have too much to do and I'm not that into it.

Vail, Telluride, Aspen and Park City whoo whooo!!!!!

Techiedork, Squaw Valley is probably my my favorite area. That place is incredible on a low crowd day with good snow. I was there 2 weeks ago and had one of my best days ever. I think I'm going up on Saturday for a day trip, and my friend wants me to ski the National Palisade. Don't think I'm up for it though.

"Vail, Telluride, Aspen and Park City whoo whooo!!!!!" That's not skiing, that's yuppie ;)

You want real skiing, try Powder Mountain - 2 feet this past saturday and sunday

im in utah right now for winter break and its been great all week - some jerk was all about getting "20,000 vertical feet in a day" - basically to do that once you get off the lift you go as fast as you can down the mountain and do it again for 10 times - that's dumb, measuring a good ski day by quantity instead of quality - i'll take 5 awesome powder runs over "20,000 vertical" anyday

I board every weekend!
Cabin and Season pass at Bear Valley!

I have a 151 Burton Custom, nice italian leather Burton bindings, and DC boots.
I'll be the one launching off the nice cliffs and making fresh tracks in Grizzly Bowl.

The best mountains are Whistler/Blackholmb. The skiing is unparalleled.
