Hi guys, I was wondering - does bowdoin college have any good skiing opportunities? I’ve seen two mountains in the area (Sugarloaf and Shawnee peak), but do any of the students go there on a regular basis? I want to ski in college.

Also, how is the outdoors program? Maine is quite a beautiful place, and if get into Bowdoin, I’ll want to enjoy the outdoors as much as possible (I’m from Florida, so I’ll be happy to get out of this HEAT).

Try Middlebury. They have their own ski mountain. They also have a January term where many people go skiing many times per week. It is beautiful there as well.

My daughter is at Colby. Check it out. The stats of admitted students are not too dissimiliar from Bowdoin. Lots of students have season passes to Sugarloaf which is only about an hour away. GREAT outdoors program. Lots of outdoorsy students. It is a great school.

Sunday River is my favorite resort in Maine, and it is just under two hours away from Bowdoin. Sugarloaf is about 2 hours, 20 minutes away (both times found on Google Maps).
