How close is the University of Washington (Seattle) to some great skiing?

Would you recommend attending UW if skiing is a high priority?

Steven's Pass is decently sized and about an hour and a half a way. Snoqualmie is a similar distance, but a pretty lame ski area (small). Crystal mountain is a little farther, but has awesome skiing. Mt Baker is a few hours away and is AMAZING (more for snowboarders though). There's lots of great places in Canada.

If a school with skiing nearby is high on your list, check out schools in Colorado.

As rhov said, there are 3 resorts within about an hour and 45 minutes.

I personally like Crystal mountain the best, they're the highest and have the most ski-able area but they don't have a terrain park, if that's your style. They put a lift in their backcountry last year so that almost doubled what's available by lift. YOu used to have to hike out there. They are the farthest away but not by much, that helps with the crowds a little bit but most of the people to stick to the easy runs so you can avoid the "noobs" if you're decent.
Crystal Mountain - The largest ski area in Washington

And don't discount Snoqualmie, they are the closest so they seem to be crowded and they are a lil bit more expenseive than the others and they are also the lowest, but that doesn't mean less snow.

Stevens is also pretty good but they seem to have a smaller ski area than crystal. They do have a terrain park, and the crowds and lines can get horrendous, as with any decent ski area.

Whistler all the way…lol
