I've heard that if you take four AP tests and pass them you can start college as a sophomore.

Logically this makes sense, but yet it doesn't. Must you pass one in each core subject?

How exactly would I go about trying to skip freshman year of college.

So far, starting my junior year right now, I've only taken the AP Psychology exam since I was allowed in the class a year early.

I received a 4, which gets credit pretty much anywhere.

I think that this is just for UVA, but in college since you take like 15 credits a semester (which is about 5 classes) if you take like 10 A.P.'s you skip a year. I think mainly it depends on how much credit they are willing to give.

So basically if you get 30 credits in total by checking on their A.P. credit website. To go to that website go to www.collegeboard.com, type in the school's name, and go to the A.P and Clep credit page.

It really depends upon the school. Some schools provide a full years worth of credit for a score of 4 or 5 on the AP Chemistry test, i.e. 6 or 8 credits. The state schools tend to be a bit more generous, i.e. UVa, UNC, etc.
