SKY universities?

Hi all! I am hoping to study abroad in the 2018/19 season as an undergraduate. I am from Ireland and I was looking online and apparently, the universities in South Korea are more lenient with the requirements compared to native students… is this true?

Any international students that can tell me first hand

Typically, study-abroad programs are easier to get in to, period. You’re not getting a degree from the school, after all. Does your current uni have an exchange relationship with any of them?

I started studying abroad in 2016. It was very difficult with the requirements for admission. But the period of acclimatization was complicated.

@all Thanks so much for your insight. It sounds like a very stupid reason for wanting to go… But as a classical musician and for the past few decades, South Korea is constantly producing outstanding musicians. And that sounds vert general, which it is. I have been learning Korean for this, should I apply (and I have to make my mind up soon lol). Or even if I returned as a postgraduate…

Ah… here’s the thing. I have not finished highschool/secondary school. I’ll be going into my final year of highscool this September, the year I’ll be sitting my Leaving Certificate (equivalent to SATs, A-Levels, le Bac, etc.)

I’d like to point out that I’m not pinning all of my hopes on South Korea or thr SKY Universities. That would be very stupid. Obviously I have looked at universities in Ireland! But I just want to study abroad, in places where classical music is widely practiced, so to speak? So like Germany or Austria, other examples. So I have personal essays (which I will email to my English teacher at the end of August when I return) and the like prepared regardless of where I go.

I probably look really stupid, sorry for wasting your time.
