so how much sleep do you get? i really find it hard to function without 6 hours. and i strive for seven on school nights. i hear stories about people who say that they get by with 4-5 hours no sweat.

I am content with 6-7. Any less than that though, and I don’t function as well. Typically, I get about 6 to 6 1/2 hours per night.

Yea i probably end up going to bed @1 give or take an hour…and wake up a 6. and its pretty easy to function on that…but i dont really need much sleep and i hate sleep so idk

september - january: 7
january - march: 6.5
march - mid-may: 6
mid-may - june: 7.5

Last year I could not survive without at least 7 hours. 8 hours preferably.

But this year I’m getting by with 4-5. Everyday. It sucks. Sadly enough, I’m used to it and it doesn’t bother me.

I can’t help it because I get home at 8:30 everyday : P

I have gotten by on as little as 3 hours for long periods of time. This year, I’m striving for 5.5-6.5 hours of sleep a night. Adrenaline kept me going, but I’m too tired now!!!

I used to get 10-11 hours daily on schooldays, but now that I’m a junior I’m getting around 8-9ish.

weekends around 10-11.

Summer: 12-14.

6 hours (if less, consider me dead, but 6/10 times, I end up getting less than 6).

I hear 4 hours is not as bad than say, 5 hours or something because of w/ sleep cycles. I heard, if you wake up in the middle of a sleep cycle - you’d feel more tired than you would if you completed several sleep cycles. I’m not too familiar with this sleep cycle thing - so those figures might not be exactly correct - sorry.

I almost can never function properly. I feel mentally out of it with less then 10 hours of sleep.

6-7 hours a sleep during school days
7-8 during the summer or when i don’t have to worry about waking up early the next day

i really think school should start at 9 or 10 AM. current start times totally ignore the fact that kids are staying up late. and then our culture has this awful focus on how much a person is doing, rather than how well they’re doing it.

School: 6-7
Summer and/or weekends: 7-9

3-5 on School nights. During summer it’s like 12 hours L0L.

“i really think school should start at 9 or 10 AM. current start times totally ignore the fact that kids are staying up late. and then our culture has this awful focus on how much a person is doing, rather than how well they’re doing it.”

I like this. The only problem I have with starting school later is that we would get out later, meaning we would have less time for activities.

I have a bad case of insomnia right now, and last night, I got about a half hour of sleep. Let me tell you, you CAN’T function on that little sleep, no matter what anyone tells you. For the rest of the day, all your mind does is say it’s tired, over and over again. Reading textbooks is impossible because you just keep dozing off, and keeping conversations is a bit*h. Dammit, tonight I’m taking benadryl and I’m going to sleep like a little baby

The sad thing is, I do start school at 9 or 10 AM. 9:10 on regular days and 10:10 on Thursdays. I get out at 2:40 on regular days and at 1:50 on Thursdays.

It’s nice because I get an extra hour of sleep, but I still only manage to get 4-5
6 hours if I’m lucky.

^I’m jealous of how late your school starts:)

I function on 0-3 hours or 6+ hours. Anything in between is bad.

Im able to function (talking and walking) with 6/7 hours, but no less.

The least I can function with is 4.5 hours, and I can’t make it two days in a row. I strive for 7 hours on school nights but it’s usually 6.

Interesting thing… I read that people should start sleeping in cycles. Taking naps in midday. Apparently its in our biology to do that, as children often do and animals.

Just found that interesting!

I sleep for 8-10 hours.
