Slightly pompous supplement?

The question for the supplemental essay makes it a little hard to not make certain assertions and market yourself as the best candidate. Is it ok if some sentences may give off an impression of being a little immodest? It's not an obvious problem in the essay I just feel like it may give it off a little bit.

Relationship advice works here too. It sounds as if you’re going to directly brag about yourself–you indirectly brag. Don’t do that. Imagine you’re trying to woo a woman (or man). Would bragging help you impress her? Nope. You show her. Don’t sell yourself as being awesome/smart. Show them by telling a story that paints a picture of your greatness.

^That is some great advice. as always with college essays, show don’t tell.

Agreed. Talk about your involvement in a project and what was able to be done because of you, but don’t make a laundry list of your achievements.
